After shutting down the Android Auto app from all devices running Android 12 last year, Google is soon shutting it down from the rest of Android as well.
This feature is used by people who do n’t have Android Auto option in their car infotainment screen. The app provides an in-car interface on Android phones, which allows easy access by mounting the phone on the dashboard of the car.
Use on older devices
The Android Auto app for the phone screen is an affordable and easy option that every vehicle owner can use to take advantage of all the features of Android Auto.
Until now, smartphones with older Android versions and Android stereos used the app, but now they have to either buy an expensive new head unit that supports Android Auto or a new car to experience Android Auto. Had to buy it.
Car’s Android Auto will get a new update
Recently, Google also announced major updates to its Android Auto technology at its annual developer conference in California.
The new update will primarily be a resolution compatible with the different sized infotainment displays of the cars. With this, the user interface (UI) of Android Auto will be given several landscape and portrait screen orientation options.
Earlier Android Auto did not have split screen feature for every car.

Users will be able to cast content from the phone
Giving information about these changes, Google also said that the company is also including screen cast for cars in Android Auto.
“In the coming days, users will not only be able to do web browsing on their car’s display but will also be given the option to cast content from their phones to the car’s screen,” the company said.
This means that the screen of the phone will be directly visible on the car infotainment display.
