Tata Motors , one of the top companies in the Indian automobile market, is soon going to launch the facelift model of its SUV Harrier. Recently it has also been spotted during testing on several occasions. According to media reports, Tata will also expand the engine options along with changes in the features of the Harrier.
How will the car look?
Talking about the design, the new Tata Harrier is going to be similar in size to the current model, although it will see many changes in its exterior look. It can get a black grille surrounded by new chrome, wider air dam, projector headlamps with new LED DRLs and a new front bumper etc. The new Harrier can get flared wheel arches and new 18-inch alloy wheels.
Petrol engine will be available in Harrier
No changes will be made to the diesel engine of the new Harrier. It will be similar to the existing Mozelle, but will now be offered with a petrol engine option as well. It will be a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which will come with BS6 standards.
Currently, the Tata Harrier is powered by a 2.0-litre Karyotek turbocharged diesel engine, which is capable of generating 167.63bhp power and 350Nm torque. It is available in six-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.
These features will be available in the cabin
Many major changes can be seen in the interior and features of the Harrier facelift. The models spotted during its testing have seen an updated infotainment system with a bigger display.
There are reports that its stereo system could also be updated. It is possible that the iRA connected car technology, which is currently available with the top variant, could be made available with the mid variant as well.
What could be its price?
There is currently no official information from the company about the new Harrier, but it is clear that the prices of the Harrier in the petrol engine will be lower than the current variants. Tata will try to beat the new Mahindra Scorpio-N and MG Hector from its prices . According to media reports, its initial ex-showroom price can be around Rs 13 lakh. The current ex-showroom price of this SUV is 14.69 lakhs to 22.04 lakhs.
Along with the new Harrier, Tata will also bring a facelift model of its most popular car Safari early next year. Due to the increasing competition in the market, it will also be offered with a petrol engine.
