The Tesla company has put a halt to its plans to sell its electric cars in India. The company has given up its search for a showroom location after it failed to bring down import taxes.
There was talk of launching Tesla cars in India in the year 2019 , but till now there is no sign of it. Tesla was constantly demanding the government to reduce the import duty.
Three people familiar with the matter told Reuters the company was taking the decision after failing to secure lower import taxes.

Let us inform that for the last one year, the company was demanding reduction in import duty from the government. Tesla had also sought to sell imported electric vehicles (EVs) from its factories available in the US and China in the country.
