‘There is no age for reading and learning’, this proverb fits perfectly on the 53-year-old Kalpana Achyut, who hails from Maharashtra .
Kalpana has recently cleared the class 10 examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. The board had released the results of the examination on June 17, 2022.
Despite being a housewife, Kalpana did not shy away from her goal and fulfilled her dream.
Kalpana’s son shares mother’s inspirational story
This information has been shared by Kalpana’s son Prasad Jambhale on the social media platform LinkedIn . Prasad is a software engineer by profession and lives in Ireland.
She told how after 37 years his mother started studying in school again and she also passed in class 10.
According to Prasad, his mother had enrolled in the school in 2021, but she did not tell anyone about it and studied secretly.
Kalpana did not even tell her husband about studies
Prasad says that when he called his house, he was told that his mother had left the house for a walk.
Kalpana did not let her husband and her other son even know about her studies.
When the Maharashtra government allowed anyone studying in a night school to re-appear for the Class 10 exams, Kalpana’s way to fulfill her dream was cleared.
Kalpana was a meritorious student of her batch
Prasad wrote, “One day when I came back to India, she showed me her notebook and I was amazed to see how good she was at seed math and English. She also showed me pictures of how her group of people dropped out. Now I am finding happiness through my studies.”
She said, “Even after all these years she was able to take education. Not only this, she was also a meritorious student of her batch.”

By how many marks did Kalpana pass?
Prasad said that he had come to India to get married, his marriage was in February and his mother’s exams were in March. Still, his mother managed everything and did not let it affect his education in any way.
She wrote that not only did his mother pass, but his numbers have also come very well. Kalpana secured 79.60 per cent marks. Prasad has also shared his report card.
