Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a big announcement on Thursday regarding free electricity subsidy. He said that according to the decision of the Delhi cabinet, from October 1, 2022, free electricity subsidy in Delhi will be available to only those people who want to take it. Under this scheme, people will have the option that if they want, they can give up their subsidy.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that from October 1, the Delhi government will give subsidy on electricity to the consumers opting for this scheme.
How much subsidy do you get
Consumers in Delhi currently have to pay a “zero” bill for electricity usage up to 200 units per month. After this, a subsidy of Rs 800 is available on consumption of 201 to 400 units of electricity per month.
Can choose subsidy
He said during an online briefing, “The Delhi government will now ask the people whether they want to avail the subsidy on electricity. From October 1, the subsidy will be provided only to those consumers who opt for it.”
