Cairo: Terrorists attack a pumping station east of the Suez Canal in Egypt. The security forces retaliated against them. This led to a fierce gun battle between the two sides.
One officer, 10 soldiers, and 11 members of the security forces were killed. 5 people were injured. The army says 11 soldiers have been killed in a stampede.
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has expressed condolences over the deaths of the soldiers. He vowed to continue fighting the rebels and eradicate terrorism.
