Uvalde, a suburb of San Antonio, Texas, is home to a large Latin American population. An 18-year-old man entered a primary school in the area and started firing at children. Of these, 21 were killed, including 18 children and 3 teachers.
In the ensuing police retaliation, the young man who opened fire was killed. The incident has caused a stir worldwide.
Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez said in a post on her social networking site that she was “heartbroken” what happened to the beautiful children and their teachers.
Jennifer Lopez said she was one of those who called on the regime to stop such violence across the country and was even afraid to send children to school because of such incidents.
