Keke Palmer Loves Nope Coster’s Natural Accent Daniel Kaluuya: ‘I Really See What You Like’

The actress is at Essence Fest with McDonald's to chat with people about her upcoming horror movie.

Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya get to know each other better after Jordan Peele’s new horror thriller Nope.

The star, who is involved in the McDonald’s Future 22 campaign, addressed the crowd at Essence Fest in New Orleans on Friday, where she presented 22 young community activists with $10,000 each.

“I love Daniel and have always wanted to work with her,” Palmer said. “Oh, I’m going to see a Jordan Peele movie, but I’ll be in a Jordan Peele movie with Daniel again!”

Palmer, 28, said she was a fan of Kaluuya before she starred in Get Out.

“When I saw his episode of Black Mirror, I thought, ‘He’s really cool.’ I said, ‘Acting,'” Palmer recalled. from BlackMirror!

The actors have become friends with their co-stars these days. “Working with him was amazing. It’s funny, I get his personality when we work, but when I use his accent, I get his personality,” she said of Kaluuya’s natural British accent.

“Most of the time [on set] he speaks with an American accent, and unfortunately it kind of blurs your personality a little bit because you’re in a different language, so we kind of meet up now. Like, ‘Oh, I really see what you are.’

Palmer, a childhood fan of horror movies like Nightmare on Elm Street, couldn’t be more excited to see Nope in theaters on July 22. ,
