Kangana Ranaut’s reality show ‘Lock Upp’ got a great response. Its telecast started on 27 February on ALT Balaji and MX Player.
Its format is very similar to ‘Bigg Boss’. Its grand finale was held on Saturday, in which famous comedian Munawar Faruqu was chosen as the winner of the first season of ‘Lock Upp’.
While Munawar Faruqu won the title, Payal Rohatgi and Anjali Arora were declared the first and second runners-up.
Munawar Faruqu was given an amount of Rs 20 lakh along with the trophy. He got a car and an offer to go on a trip to Italy. ALT Balaji announced the winner of the show on Twitter.
ALT Balaji wrote in his post, ‘The favorite Munawar Faruqu of both the public and Kangana gets bail from the tyrannical jail of ‘Lock Upp’. Hearty congratulations.’
As soon as Kangana announced Munawar Faruqu name as the winner, her curiosity was building.
Munawar Faruqu was arrested from Indore in January last year. He was accused of insulting Hindu deities. After spending 37 days in jail, the Supreme Court granted him bail.
After this he had planned to do standup comedy.
Eklavya Singh Gaur, son of a politician, had accused him of hurting the faith of Hindus. After this many of his shows were canceled across the country.
