Uttarkashi Bus Accident: 25 people have died in a painful road accident in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. The bus carrying 28 pilgrims from Panna district of Madhya Pradesh (MP) fell into a gorge near Damta in Uttarkashi district. Local administration and SDRF teams are engaged in rescue work. NDRF team also reached the spot.
Speaking to ANI, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai confirmed,”As per the Uttarakhand local administration, 25 pilgrims have died and 3 people have been injured. NDRF team is reaching the spot.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of those killed in the bus accident and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
According to the PMO, PM Modi has expressed grief over the accident. In a tweet, he said,”The bus accident in Uttarakhand is extremely painful. I express my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this. The local administration under the supervision of the state government is engaged in all possible help on the spot. Is.”
CMO Uttarakhand told that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the disaster control room of Dehradun regarding the bus accident in Uttarkashi district. He has also directed the district administration to expedite the relief and rescue work along with providing good treatment to the injured.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also expressed grief over the accident.”Unfortunate death of pilgrims from Panna district after bus rammed into a gorge in Uttarakhand.
Our team is in constant touch with Uttarakhand government. Arrangements are being made to treat the injured and bring back the dead,” he tweeted.
