The spectrum auction for providing 5G services in India started on July 26 through the internet. The auction was completed in 40 rounds over 7 days. 4 companies participating in this auction are Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Adani Data Network of Adani Group. 5G spectrum was auctioned for a total of Rs.1.50 lakh crore.
Reliance Jio, Airtel to offer 5G service by the end of this month. It is said that the Indian government will officially launch the 5G service at the opening ceremony of the India Mobile Congress. Prime Minister Modi recently said that 5G internet service will be 10 times faster than 4G.
