Diya Kumari , a member of the royal family of Jaipur and BJP MP, has jumped into the controversy over the famous Taj Mahal in Agra.
Talking to the media on Wednesday, he said that the land on which the Taj Mahal was built, earlier used to be the palace of the Jaipur royal family, which was occupied by Shah Jahan.
He said that he also has documents to prove this claim.
What did Diya Kumari say?
Claiming the Jaipur royal house on the Taj Mahal, Diya Kumari said that she has documents which show that there was a palace of her family at the site of the Taj Mahal, which Shah Jahan liked and occupied it.
He said that since the Mughals ruled at that time, his family could not resist it.
He said that it should be investigated what was there before the Taj Mahal.
Shahjahan had given compensation, but don’t know how much – Diya Kumari
Diya Kumari further said, “I have heard that Shah Jahan had given some compensation in return for possession of the land. But how much it was, whether it was accepted or not, I am not aware as I have not read the entire document.
But The land belonged to our family and Shah Jahan had occupied it. At that time there was no law to appeal against it or do anything against it.”
The Diya Kumari said – ready to provide documents if the court asks
On the evidence in support of her claim, Diya said that her trust of the royal house has a ‘pothikhana’ in which all the documents are present.
“If the court orders, we will provide the documents. It is clear from the documents we have that Shah Jahan liked the palace and occupied it,” he said.
On whether there was a temple in the palace, he said that he had not seen all the documents of Pothikhana.
Diya supported the opening of the closed rooms of the Taj Mahal
In her statement, Princess Diya also supported the petition filed to open the closed rooms of the Taj Mahal.
She said, “I will not say that the Taj Mahal should be demolished, but its rooms should be opened. Some rooms in the Taj Mahal are locked. Some parts are sealed there for a long time. There should definitely be an investigation on this and they should be opened.” It is necessary to know what was there and what was not.
Diya Kumari has also claimed to be a descendant of Lord Ram
Please tell that Diya Kumari has earlier claimed to be a descendant of Lord Rama. He had said that he was also ready to provide evidence to the Supreme Court to prove his family’s ancestry.
Why is the Taj Mahal in controversy now?
BJP’s Ayodhya district media in-charge Dr Rajnish Singh has filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court demanding the opening of 22 closed rooms of the Taj Mahal .
In his petition, he said that it is believed that the Taj Mahal is a Shiva temple and these rooms may contain sculptures and inscriptions of Hindu gods and goddesses.
He said that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) should inspect these closed rooms, so that the truth can come out.
