New Delhi: Petrol & Diesel prices drop for per litre Rs.9.5, Rs.7 Centre excise duty is reduced. Thus, the petrol price of Rs.9.50, diesel price is Rs.7 Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said on twitter.
This year, under the Ujwala Yojana, the Prime Minister will provide a subsidy of ₹ 200 per gas cylinder (up to 12 cylinders) to 90 million beneficiaries.
Petrol and diesel prices in India have risen sharply over the past few years. Petrol in Tamil Nadu sells for around 110 rupees. This caused great inconvenience to motorists.
Rising petrol and diesel prices have multiplied the yield of essential commodities. Thus the price of even the smallest commodity has risen many times over. The common man could not cope with this increase in prices.
