DMK’s state level MP Trichy Siva is also the Secretary for Policy Outreach. He is also the party’s main leader in the Central Region.
In this context, his son Suriyaa Sivaa met BJP leader Annamalai in person on May 8 and held talks. It was later reported that Surya had joined the BJP as a volunteer.
The two parties had been talking widely for a few days as the son of the party’s key leader MP Tiruchi Siva had joined the BJP, which is considered the party’s rival.
Some have also suggested that the reason Surya left the DMK and joined the BJP was because his son Surya was dissatisfied with the lack of recognition in the DMK for Tiruchi Siva and his son Surya.
He was arrested on a charge of hijacking a private bus less than two months after joining the BJP. Earlier, Surya was accused of extorting money from the owner of a private bus near Ulundurpet after his car was damaged in a collision.
The Trichy Police have taken action on a complaint lodged by the owner of a private bus that hijacked it and demanded money.
Further, the Trichy Cantonment Police are conducting a series of investigations on Surya in this regard. The arrest of Surya, son of Trichy Siva, has become a sensation in the political arena.
