FIR filed against Amazon; Sale of abortion medicine without a prescription

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has registered an FIR against e-commerce website Amazon. The Food and Drug Administration found that the company was selling abortion drugs online. Amazon does not ask for any prescription for abortion drugs.

The drug is dispensed without a bill

The FDA found in its investigation that Amazon had accepted an order for the A-Kare brand of abortion medicine. For this, the person who ordered it was not even asked for a prescription. Shortly afterwards, the ‘A-Kare’ brand of abortion-related medicine was delivered at the given address. But, Amazon did not pay the bill with it.

Seller ID is registered in another person’s name

It was revealed that the medicine related to the abortion was delivered from Odisha. But the investigation found that the drug was not delivered from any of the vendors in Odisha and the vendor ID was registered in someone else’s name.

It has previously been accused of insulting the Amazon tricolor flag. It is noteworthy that an FIR has been registered against the company.
