New Delhi: Google has introduced a self-repair program, according to Google’s self-repair program, iFixit users can repair pixel phones themselves.
This will allow Pixel smartphone owners to adjust their devices themselves. Google has partnered with iFixit, an online repair community for its original Pixel Parts project.
This program will provide Pixel users with the original Pixel spare parts along with the phone repair guide. Accessories ranging from Pixel 2 to Pixel 6 Pro and all future Pixel phones will be available on iFixit.com starting this year.
However, this service is currently only available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and the European Union.
Google Pixel Self-Repair Program
According to Google’s blog post, users of iFixit will get all kinds of spare parts for repairing pixel phones.
This includes the battery, replacement display and camera. In addition, tools such as screwdriver bits and spatulas are also available under the iFixit’s fix kit.
iFixit includes their pixel repair kit iOpener, replacement pre-cut glue, iFixit opening pix (set of rivers), iFixit opening tool, suction handle, angle tweezers, SIM eject tool and precision bit driver.
Google Pixel also provides a phone repair guide for iFixit users. The guide for all phones up to Pixel 5 is live. It said the guide was being written for the Pixel 5a, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
Before Google, Apple announced a similar self-service repair plan. Under this, users can purchase spare parts for iPhone, iPad and other Apple products and repair them themselves.
The company had said that the project would be launched in the United States soon, but since November 2021, the company has not released any information about it.
