The new toll feature of Google Maps will be rolled out for users in India, Indonesia, Japan and the US by the end of this month. According to Google , the price of the toll being shown on the map will be as per the information received from the local tolling officer. The company says that this feature will be started in other countries soon.

What will be special in Google Maps Toll Feature

The toll price feature will allow users to calculate toll on their way according to different factors. This includes details like toll pass, day of the week, time of day. The company says that Google Maps will provide details on more than 2,000 toll roads.

For users who want to avoid paying tolls, Google Maps will provide the facility to view toll-free routes. According to the company, users can click on the three-dots at the top of the app for the toll route option and select the Avoid tolls option to use the available alternative routes.

iOS users will get the latest update

Along with the new tolls feature, the company has also announced a new update for iOS users that will bring a new pinned trip widget. This will show the pinned journey in the Go tab on the new version of the Google Maps app. According to Google, the new pinned widget will inform the users about the arrival time.

Additionally, Google Maps for iOS has been updated with a pinned widget on the home screen as well as direct navigation from the Apple Watch. The upcoming update will bring Siri and other shortcuts to Google Maps on iOS devices by the end of this year. That is, users will be able to set shortcuts associated with Google Maps on iOS.

This update will also improve support for Google Maps on the Apple Watch, allowing for automatic navigation of maps through the smartwatch. This feature will be rolled out to the users in a few weeks. The company said users will also be able to add a “Take me home” shortcut to their screen, which will immediately start navigation on the Apple Watch.
