Chennai: Prime Minister Modi arrived in Chennai today to lay the foundation stone for new projects in Tamil Nadu and to dedicate himself to the country by starting the completed works.

Arriving in Chennai on a private plane after concluding his visit to Hyderabad, he was received at the airport by Governor RN Ravi, Ministers Duraimurugan, Ponmudi, Union Minister L Murugan, Leader of the Opposition Edappadi Palanisamy and Chief Secretary Iriyanpu. A large number of BJP workers gathered outside the airport to welcome the Prime Minister.

Following the reception, Adyar INS was flown by helicopter from Chennai Airport to Marina Beach. Prime Minister Modi arrives at the naval base. From there he came to Nehru Stadium by road.

Participating in the ceremony held at Nehru Stadium, the Prime Minister launched various structural projects through video. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the 30-km Tambaram-Chengalpattu 3rd Rail Line at a cost of Rs 598 crore and dedicated it to the nation. He also inaugurated the Rs 506 crore wide gauge railway line between Madurai and Theni and dedicated it to the nation.

Modi also dedicated this to the country. 271 km of gas pipelines have been laid on the Bangalore-Tiruvallur section at a cost of Rs 911 crore. Prime Minister Modi also dedicated this action plan to the country.

Prime Minister Modi handed over 1,152 houses constructed at a cost of Rs 116 crore under the Lighthouse Action Plan to the beneficiaries.

Apart from this, he laid the foundation stone for the Rs 5,852 crore two-lane flyover between Port-Maduravayal and the Rs 14,872 crore Expressway from Chennai to Bangalore. He also laid the foundation stone for a Rs 3,871 crore 4-lane road from Nerularu to Dharmapuri and a Rs 1,428 crore multi-lane freight park in Chennai.

He also laid the foundation stone for modernization of 5 railway stations at Chennai Egmore, Madurai, Rameswaram, Kanyakumari and Katpadi.

Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone for a Rs 724 crore project to build a 32-km National Highway from Meenchurutti to Chidambaram.

The Prime Minister today inaugurated 11 infrastructure projects worth a total of Rs 31,500 crore, both completed and new projects.

Governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi, First Minister MK Stalin, Union Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Railway Minister Aswini Vaishnav, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister L Murugan, Tamil Nadu Ministers, MLAs and various leaders were present on the occasion. Participated.
