Jammu and Kashmir Police shot down a drone coming from Pakistan near the International Border in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district. Bombs and grenades were loaded on it.
Officials said the drone was coming from the border side and was shot down in Talli Haria Chak area. Seven magnetic bombs and seven Under Barrel Grenade Launchers (UBGL) have been recovered from the drone.
It is worth noting that such incidents have come to the fore in recent months.

ADG of Jammu and Kashmir Police Mukesh Singh said that due to the drone activities seen in recent times, police patrolling is done in this area. This morning a search party saw a drone coming from the border side. He took immediate action and killed it.
He said that the payload was loaded on the drone, from which seven bombs and seven grenades have been recovered. Further investigation is on.
Last month there was an attempt to attack with a drone
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Jammu in April. There was a loud bang a short distance before their rally began.
Sources had said that the blast could have been caused by an IED dropped from the drone. Locals claim that they heard the sound of the drone before the loud explosion.
Initially it was believed to be a meteorite or a lightning strike.
Explosives have been dropped even before drones
In June last year, a drone attack was carried out on the airport located in the Air Force Station of Jammu . This was the first time that drones were used by Pakistan for such attacks. A canopy was damaged by low-intensity explosives dropped from the drone. Lashkar’s hand was said to be behind the attack.
After this, drones were seen at different places in Jammu and Kashmir for several days.
The supply of weapons and drugs has increased through drones
For the past several months, the supply of weapons, heroin and other drugs through drones from Pakistan has increased.
Apart from Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab has seen an increase in drone related activities. In February this year, before the assembly elections, narcotics were hurled by drones near the Panjgrahiyan border post in Ajnala tehsil of Amritsar. In December, BSF shot down a drone in Punjab.
Since the beginning of this year, an increase in terrorist incidents is being recorded in Jammu and Kashmir. Till May 23 last year, 31 terrorist incidents were registered in Jammu and Kashmir, whereas this year so far 62 such incidents have taken place. Security concerns have increased among people regarding this.
At the same time, Amarnath Yatra is also going to start from next month. These incidents have increased the challenge of the security agencies ahead of the Yatra.
