New Delhi: The quota of 10 seats for MPs for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas has been abolished. MPs used to get this quota for getting admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas. MPs used to recommend admission of students in their area on the basis of their prescribed quota. A maximum of 10 students could be admitted on the basis of the recommendation of the MPs.
However, now this provision has been abolished. In addition to the MP quota in Kendriya Vidyalayas, on the recommendation of the Union Ministry of Education, there was a system to admit 450 students.
However, this quota of 450 seats given to the Ministry of Education was completely abolished last year itself. On the subject of MP quota, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan says that whether we will use our authority for a few people or will we, as MPs, do the same work for all.
Till now, 7,500 admissions were taking place from the MP quota. Meanwhile, this time Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has decided that admission in KVS will be given on a priority basis to those students who have lost their parents due to Corona. This year this rule will be followed in all Kendriya Vidyalayas for any class from class I to XII.
Last year, it was decided to abolish the quota of the Union Education Ministry in Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country and now the quota of MPs has been abolished. This decision has been taken by the Central Government.
Now this information has also been made available to many MPs by the Union Education Ministry that MPs should not send recommendations for admission under quota. Meanwhile, the admission process for class I students has started in Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country.
This year the new National Education Policy is being followed in the admission process of Kendriya Vidyalayas. According to the new National Education Policy, students should have completed six years of age by March 1, 2022, for admission to class I.
While this year the minimum age for getting admission in Class I in Kendriya Vidyalayas has been reduced to 6 years, till last year the age limit for admission in Class I was 5 years. This change has been made to comply with the new education policy this year.
It is worth noting that Kendriya Vidyalaya was at the fore in the CBSE 10th and 12th board results released last year. CBSE 10th board result in Kendriya Vidyalayas has been 100%. That is, all the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya have passed in class X.
