Latvia smuggler arrested for smuggling drugs worth Rs 69 crore at Mumbai airport

Police have arrested a man for smuggling 7 kg of cocaine hidden in a trolley.

Mumbai: The anti-narcotics team received confidential information that drugs were being smuggled from the Mumbai airport. He subsequently intensified surveillance at the airport.

Napan, 24, of Latvia, Europe, tested the trolley. It was found that Ava had smuggled 6.90 kg of cocaine hidden in a cardboard box.

He has been arrested and is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Police have registered a case under various charges including drug trafficking.

An official said the young man had allegedly given drugs to Napa, a native of Brazil, and that he had paid for them.
