Chennai: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has stated that it is not compulsory to have completed Mathematics in Class 12 to join 3 courses in Engineering.
Although it was the ambition of many students to study together in engineering, the rule that mathematics was compulsory in the 12th grade was a hindrance to many.
The All India Council for Technical Education has released the new rules for the 2022-23 academic year to provide some comfort to such people. In it, it is stated that mathematics is not compulsory to enroll in one-third of the courses in the engineering section.
Accordingly, for undergraduate engineering courses in Architecture, Fashion Technology and Packaging Technology, it is not required to have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Class XII.
Similarly, students who have completed 14 subjects in Class XII, including Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology and Biotechnology, can apply for engineering courses.
