New Delhi: Central Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has told the Lok Sabha that in two more years, the prices of all-electric vehicles in the country will be equal to the prices of petrol vehicles.
Gadkari said MPs could buy and use electric vehicles if a charging station was set up on the parliament premises.
Gadkari also said that the government’s policy was to replace imports with low-cost, high-efficiency, pollution-free and domestic production.
‘We are facing problems due to high petrol and diesel prices. We have already seen the situation. So, this is the only alternative fuel.
Namely, green hydrogen, electricity, ethanol, methanol, bio-diesel, bio-LNG and bio-CNG. We will work in that direction, “said Nitin Gadkari.
