Punjab Guru Nanak Dev Hospital Major Fire Accident

The major accident was avoided as patients were evacuated from the building in a timely manner.

Amritsar: A fire broke out at the Government Medical College in Amritsar, Punjab this evening. The fire is said to have started from a transformer in the parking lot at the back of the building near the X-ray unit of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital.

Subsequently, hospital staff and assistants evacuated patients admitted to different wards of the building in a timely manner. Thus the great absurdity was avoided.

Its video is going viral. In the video you can see that the fire was so intense that it surrounded the cane with a burning fire and covered the building itself.

Firefighter Lovepreet Singh said, “Initially there was a fire from the transformer. Eight fire trucks rushed to the spot. The fire was brought under control within 40 minutes. No one was injured in the fire.”

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said he was monitoring the relief work. He also said that state power minister Harbhajan Singh was at the scene.

State Power Minister Harbhajan Singh said; It has been ordered to install new transformers at the site of the fire, restore power supply to the hospital and conduct an inquiry into the cause of the fire.
