PV Sindhu wins Swiss Open 2022 women’s singles title after beating Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan.
The Indian badminton player won the set 21-16, 21-8 in a clash between Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan and sixth seed PV Sindhu.
Double Olympic medalist PV Sindhu won the title by defeating Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan in the final. In the match which lasted for 49 minutes, Sindhu defeated Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan 21-16, 21-8.
In the climactic clash of the Swiss Open Super 300 Badminton Tournament on Sunday, Indian player PV Sindhu defeated Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan in a straight match to win the second women’s singles title of the season.
Olympic doubles medalist Sindhu defeated fourth-seeded Thailand 21-16, 21-8 in 49 minutes in a 21-16, 21-8 set in St. Jacobshall here.
Sindhu, 26, from Hyderabad, won the 2019 World Championship Gold. At the 2019 Hong Kong Open, he lost only once to Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan. This is Sindhu’s 16th win in 17 matches against Busanan.

It is noteworthy that Sindhu lost in the final to Rio Olympics gold medalist Carolina Marin last time.
In January this year, Sindhu won the Syed Modi International Super 300 in Lucknow. The Super 300 Tournament is the next-ranked badminton tournament of the BWF Tour.
