Chennai: The public examination for 10th, 11th and 12th class students in Tamil Nadu is nearing its final stage. Students from 1st to 9th class have been given summer vacation from the 14th day after the final examination of the school.
It was announced that government-aided schools, which study the state curriculum, will open schools on June 13 for matriculation students.
But the school education department plans to reopen the schools by the end of June due to work including editing the answer sheet for Plus 2, Plus 1, 10th class students, training classes for teachers and improving the infrastructure of the schools.
Apart from this, the scheme of providing breakfast to students studying up to 5th standard in government schools is to be implemented in a few districts in the first phase.
Education officials say the schools will be reopened as preparations have to be made for this.
The schools are scheduled to reopen in the week of June 4, with the Department of Education saying the opening date will be announced later. An official announcement will be made soon.
