Srinagar: Yasin Malik, the leader of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and a separatist leader, was arrested in 2019 on charges of ‘fundraising for terrorism’. He was interrogated by the NIA in several stages.
Yasin Malik, who was lodged in Tihar Jail, was found guilty. Yasin Malik’s sentence will be announced on the 25th (today), the court said.
Accordingly, an argument was held regarding the sentence to be imposed on Yasin Malik. The NIA argued in court that the maximum sentence for Yassin Malik should be the death penalty. Following the completion of the sentence, the court is scheduled to announce the sentence this evening.
Thus, heavy security has been put in place in Jammu and Kashmir today. In some places full blockade is being observed. Most of the shops are closed even though public transport is running as usual.
