Sri Lanka: Violence in front of President Rajapaksa’s house 45 arrested

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa staged a protest in front of his house. Lockdown were imposed in various parts of Colombo following the outbreak of violence during the protests.

Colombo, Sri Lanka: The people of Sri Lanka have been severely affected by the severe economic crisis. Suddenly, more than a thousand people gathered in front of the house of Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa last night to condemn the economic crisis. Lockdown were imposed in various parts of Colombo following the outbreak of violence during the protests.

Violence Many Arrested by Police

Sudden protests and violence caused a great stir. The struggle lasted for about four hours, after which it came to an end. Due to this a curfew order was issued in Colombo. Following this, the curfew has been lifted at 5 am today. Police say 45 people have been arrested so far in connection with last night’s violence.

“A large number of civilians and five policemen were injured in the violence in front of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s house. Vehicles parked there were set on fire. The injured have been admitted to hospital and are receiving treatment,” officials said.

Lockdown Imposed after Violence

Violence has led to curfews in the northern, southern and central parts of Colombo, Nugegoda, Mount Lavinia and the Kelaniya police area. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who tried to enter into the house of Rajapaksa, was bombing the tears of the tears and blocked the water.

In addition, power outages lasted for more than 13 hours in most parts of Sri Lanka due to power shortages. Also the street lights are being turned off due to power shortage.
