Lucknow: The BJP has won the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and retained power. Following this, the BJP began the process of forming a new government.
A meeting of BJP MLAs was held today to select the Chief Minister. At the meeting, which was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, the current Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, was unanimously elected as the Leader of the Assembly (Chief Minister).
He then met the governor with a letter of support from the MLAs, demanding his right to rule.
The inauguration ceremony of Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to take place on friday. UP Yogi Adityanath becomes the Chief Minister for the second time. Prime Minister Modi and senior BJP leaders are scheduled to attend the function.
