Vistara’s Bangkok bound flight lands on single engine at Delhi airport, all passengers safe

Vistara airline said there was a "slight" electrical fault in one of the two engines after the plane landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) on Tuesday.

Vistara’s Bangkok-bound flight made a single engine landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) on 5 July. Flight- Flt UK-122 (BKK-DEL), post runway vacation engine 2 was switched off for single-engine taxiing.

The airline said there was a “slight” electrical fault in one of the two engines after the plane landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday.

DGCA officials said that after clearing the runway, engine number 2 of the aircraft was switched off as the pilots wanted to do a single engine taxi using engine number 1.

He added, however, that due to engine number 1 failure at the end of the cab, a tow truck had to be brought in to take the aircraft to the parking bay. He said all the passengers were safely ejected from the plane.

A Vistara spokesperson said in a statement, “After landing in Delhi, while taxiing to the parking bay, our flight UK 122 (BKK-DEL) had a minor electrical fault on July 05, 2022. Passenger safety and comfort were affected. Keeping this in mind, the crew decided to move the aircraft to the bay.”

At the same time, according to the news agency ANI, on July 5, information about smoke coming out of the cabin of Indigo flight has come to the fore.

The DGCA said that the Raipur-Indore Indigo flight (A320Neo aircraft) from the cabin crew received information about smoke coming out of its cabin during taxi. The incident happened yesterday after landing on July 05.”
