Chennai: AIADMK general body meeting in Vanagaram today with the question of single head or double leadership. OPS attended the General Body Meeting in the wake of the court ruling that no new resolutions should be passed.
But when he came to Shri Varu Mandapam the environment there was not so favorable for him. One faction of EPS supporters chanted the slogan of single leadership, while the other side chanted the slogan of OPS traitor. Slogans were raised not only against the OPS but also against his supporter R Vaithilingam.
Dissatisfied with this, R Vaithilingam descended from the platform and sat down. Following this, EPS and OPS took to the stage and paid floral tributes to MGR and Jayalalithaa photos.
While Vaigaichelvan claimed that the resolutions would be put to the notice of the members, CV Shanmugam’s statement that all resolutions were rejected caused a stir.
To make matters worse, Mike’s favorite Velumani, Shanmugam and many others insisted on a single leadership. It was further stated that the next General Assembly would be held on July 11 and other resolutions would be passed with a unanimous decision.
In this situation, O. Panneerselvam, Vaithilingam and others walked out of the meeting claiming that this was an illegal public meeting. Thus his supporters are deeply upset.
It was also reported that the car tires of Panneerselvam, who was parked outside the hall where the public meeting was being held, were punctured car tyers and thrown water bottles and papers were thrown at the exiting OPS.

Thus there has been a stir. Moreover, his supporters say the party will definitely leave if the OPS does not take any further action.
