New Delhi: The incident has come as a shock as young man has filed a petition in the Supreme Court claiming that his wife is not a woman and thus seeking a divorce.
She was married in July 2016 to a young man from Madhya Pradesh. After marriage, he came to know that his wife was not a woman and that he was not a woman.
It was diagnosed by medical examination. The woman was advised to have surgery. Yet she learned through doctors that it was impossible to conceive.
Meanwhile, he filed a petition in the court in Madhya Pradesh claiming that his wife was not a woman and thus seeking a divorce. This petition was dismissed.
Similarly, the High Court bench in Gwalior, MP had dismissed his petition.
He appealed to the Supreme Court against the order issued on July 29 last year in the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
In the petition, he stated that his wife was not a woman, that he did not have feminine characteristics, that he was not a woman, that he had cheated on her and married her, and thus had to grant her a divorce.
He also submitted his wife’s medical information. The petition was heard by a bench comprising Justices S.K Kaul and MM Sundaresh. The apex court had issued notice to the wife to file a reply in this regard.
