Xi Jinping calls on US-China joint cooperation to end Ukraine war

The United States has criticized China for not condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, citing closer ties.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden held a video conference on the Ukraine issue and the end of the war.

Speaking at the event, Xi Jinping called on the United States and China to work together to shoulder the international responsibility for world peace and tranquility.

‘The current peace and development trend is facing serious challenges. The world is neither quiet nor stable. The crisis in Ukraine is not something we want to see. “Once again, these events show that nations should not come to terms with each other on the battlefield,” he said.

The Chinese president’s speech today is seen as significant, as the United States has criticized China for not condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, given the close ties between China and Russia.
