Non Bailable Arrest Warrant Issue against Nithyananda Ordered Karnataka Court

The Karnataka Ramanagara Sessions Court has ordered Nithyananda's non-bailable remand for two weeks.

Bengaluru: There is an ashram belonging to Nityananda at Bidathi in Ramnagar District, Karnataka. In 2010, his former car driver, Lenin Karuppan, had filed a case against Nithyantha for sexually harassing a female disciple at the ashram. The case is pending in the 3rd District Additional and Sessions Court, Ramnagar.

Nithyananda was arrested in Himachal Pradesh in 2010 and imprisoned in this case. Then he came out on bail.

Later, when it was reported that he had left the country, a case was filed to cancel the bail granted to him. In 2019, he was summoned to appear in this case but he did not appear. Following this, the bail granted to him in 2020 was cancelled.

However, the court heard the case and issued an arrest warrant against Nithyananda as he failed to appear despite asking him to appear several times. It further adjourned the case till September 23.

Earlier, arrest warrants were issued for Nithyananda in various sex cases, but he was absconding and was not arrested. While some are saying that he is hiding in India, there are reports that the police are actively working to arrest him.

A few days ago it was reported that Nithyananda was ill and had gone into a coma.
