Indian American teen Aarya Walvekar: Indian American teen Aarya Walvekar, who lives in Virginia, has won the crown of Mid India USA 2022 (Miss India USA 2022) at the annual event held in New Jersey. Arya, 18, who aspires to become an actress, said it is her childhood dream to see herself on the silver screen and work in films and TV.
His hobbies, he said, include exploring new places, cooking and engaging in debates.
Who was the first runner up
Saumya Sharma, a second year paramedical student at the University of Virginia, was declared the first runner up and Sanjana Chekuri from New Jersey was declared the second runner up.
The 40-year-old competition is the longest-running event for the Indian community outside India. It was started by New York-based Americans Dharmatma and Neelam Saran under the banner of Worldwide Pageants.

Dharmatma Saran, Founder and Chairman, Worldwide Peasants, said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the Indian community around the world, who have been supporting over the years.”
Akshi Jain of Washington State was crowned Mrs India USA and Tanvi Grover of New York became Miss Teen India USA.
74 participants from 30 states participated in three different competitions – Miss India USA, Mrs India USA and Miss Teen India USA.
The winners of all three categories have been given complimentary tickets to Mumbai to participate in the Worldwide Pageants organized by the same group next year.
