Chief Minister MK Stalin hoisted tricolor national flag on the fort for 76th Independence Day

Chief Minister M. K. Stalin hoisted the national flag on the Fort Kothalam in Chennai.

Chennai: On the occasion of the country’s 76th Independence Day, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin hoisted the national flag at the Fort Kothalam in Chennai.

India’s 76th Independence Day is being celebrated with enthusiasm across the country today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolor at the Red Fort in Delhi on the occasion of Independence Day. Following this, the Chief Ministers of each state hoisted the national flag in their state.

Today, Independence Day is being celebrated in Chennai at George Fort. Accepting the parade honors, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin hoisted the national flag on the fort ramparts and paid his respects. Following this, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin has been presenting various types of awards to the awardees including Thakaisal Tamil Award, Abdul Kalam Award, Kalpana Chawla Award.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Independence Day, more than one lakh policemen have been engaged in security work across Tamil Nadu. The old landmark buildings that herald Chennai’s heritage are the Central Railway Station, LIC. The whole building is decorated with colorful electric lights.
