People from major cities including Chennai and Coimbatore are getting ready to go to their hometowns with Diwali coming next month. In this situation, the reservation of government express buses has started from today. For this, the Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation has informed that reservations can be made through the website www.tnstc.in or through the app tnstc.

How to book?

Those who want to travel in government express buses, AC buses can book tickets through the website https://www.tnstc.in/ and government apps including TNSTC app. Apart from this, tickets can be booked through private booking websites like Red Bus and Ticket Goose for bus travel. Residents of Chennai can also book tickets directly at Koyambedu Bus Stand.

Similarly, the facility of booking tickets directly at the bus stations in the respective districts has also been established. Those who are afraid to stand in the crowd and book tickets can book online. So far, 1,100 buses have been booked. It seems that additional buses will be brought up for booking once the seats are filled.

Diwali is just a month away. Due to this, ticket bookings are expected to increase manifold this week. The Transport Corporation is also ready to face the last minute rush.

In this way, special buses will be operated from today on the occasion of Diwali festival this year. The Transport Corporation plans to run more than 15 thousand buses for the people from outside districts living in Chennai to go to their hometowns and also to run 15 thousand buses for them to return to Chennai. The government has also planned to run additional buses in case of heavy crowd.

Bus stop at 6 major locations

Since the last AIADMK rule, bus stands were set up at 6 places for the people of the outer districts to go to their native places on the festival days of Diwali and Pongal.
