Erode Ovum case 4 people arrested under Goondas Act

All the four arrested in the Ovum egg case were arrested under the Prevention of Goondas Act.

Erode: On the basis of a complaint that a 16-year-old girl from Erode had received an Ovum egg, the Erode Surambatti Police Department arrested four persons under various sections including Indrani Sumaiya, the girl’s mother, Syed Ali, the girl’s foster father, Malathi, who acted as a middleman, and John, who corrected the Aadhaar card.

Meanwhile, a committee led by the Joint Director of the Tamil Nadu Government Health Department ordered an investigation. The team also investigated the hospitals where the girl and the ovum were reported to have been received. Tamil Nadu government ordered to seal the hospital on the basis of investigation.

Meanwhile, District Collector Krishnanunni ordered the arrest of the four arrested under the Goondas Act based on the recommendation of Erode District Superintendent of Police Sasimohan. Following this, the 4 people in the Coimbatore Central Jail were given a letter of arrest under the Gangster Prevention Act.
