Former TN Minister D.Jayakumar Remanded in Judicial Custody till March 7

Chennai Police arrested former minister Jayakumar was produced before a Georgetown court judge. It was reported that a case has been registered against him under 10 sections.

A case has been registered against 40 people, including former minister Jayakumar, at the Tondiarpet police station in connection with the attack on a DMK party worker. D.Jayakumar was arrested by the police last night after interrogation. He was then taken away in a police vehicle.

The arrested former minister Jayakumar was produced in Georgetown Court. It is learned that cases have been registered against him under 10 sections.

Under the circumstances, former minister Jayakumar was produced before Georgetown Court Judge Murali Krishnan. The judge remanded him in custody until March 7.

Video footage was also released of former minister Jayakumar being arrested and taken away by police from his home. AIADMK ex-minister Jayakumar has been remanded in custody for 15 days by a judge. Judge Murali Krishna has remanded Jayakumar in custody till March 7 in connection with the case of dragging and attacking a DMK party worker half-naked.

AIADMK has move an inquiry into a bail petition filed by former minister Jayakumar. His lawyers have demanded that Jayakumar be admitted to hospital. Attorney D. Selvam said in an interview that if bail is not available, they will seek the High Court.
