In Ranji Trophy, players are given salary on a day to day basis. In the current season, players get a salary of Rs 40,000 for a day. Till last season it was Rs 35,000 and the salary has been increased even before the start of this season.
Players will get Rs 50,000 per day for every match after 20 matches in the season, while players who play more than 40 matches will get Rs 60,000 per day.
Players who do not get a place in the playing XI and are sitting on the bench are also getting good amount. The players sitting on the bench get Rs 20,000 per day. Their amount also increases after more than 20 matches.

In Ranji Trophy, the league stage matches are of four days, while the knockout matches are of five days. This season 32 teams were placed in eight elite groups while six teams were placed in plate group.
