Photo sharing app Instagram is constantly trying to give better experience to the users with new features. These days, a feature called Notes is being tested on Instagram, with which users will be able to share disappearing content.
It is clear from the name that this feature is related to text content rather than photos. Like Instagram Stories, this content will automatically disappear after 24 hours.
The feature will give the option to share quick notes
According to a TechCrunch report, the new feature on the social media app is currently being tested with select users. With this feature Instagram users can share quick notes.
Any kind of text content, from announcements, can be shared with the ‘Close Friends’ circle or followers with the help of the Notes feature. Let us tell you, these notes will automatically disappear after 24 hours.
Screenshot of the new feature surfaced
The new Instagram feature was first reported by marketer Ahmed Ghanem, who shared screenshots of the new feature on microblogging site Twitter.
These screenshots show that Instagram notes will be shown in a new row above all messages on the app’s direct messaging screen.
Users will not be sent notifications related to these notes, they will be visible for the next 24 hours after they are posted and they can be replied to.
More than a billion people worldwide use the Instagram app and users spend an average of 53 minutes a day on the app. On average, more than 10 hashtags are used in every post shared on this platform.
Best way to share important messages
The new feature is also a better way to share important messages that you don’t want to be part of the rest of the messages in your inbox. Apart from this, sharing information with all the followers will become easier with this.
These notes appearing at the top of the inbox mean they’ll get more user attention than a feed post or story. However, the final rollout will be done based on the feedback received during testing.
Right now the focus of the app is on photo-video sharing
The Meta -owned app is focused more on photo and video content right now. Although its users can share text in unlimited characters in the caption, but it is primarily a multimedia platform.
The Notes feature can come in handy for sending invites to friends, making an announcement or providing information like when you are out of town.
By sharing it in the close friends circle, important things can be done without sending a message.
Twitter also has a new feature called Notes
Microblogging site Twitter has also brought a feature called Notes in the past. However, the way it works is completely different from Instagram Notes.
Twitter Notes will come in handy for those users who are unable to express themselves in tweets with a limit of 280 characters.
With this feature, posts of up to 2,500 words can be shared on Twitter along with photos, videos and GIFs and a note card will be displayed in the Twitter timeline.
