Colombo: Ranil Wickremesinghe was sworn in as the 8th Executive President of Sri Lanka in the presence of Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya at the Parliament Complex. Ranil Wickramasinghe will soon take office as the 8th executive president. The event has already started.
Information available from there suggests that all arrangements have been made for the inauguration. Meanwhile, President Ranil Wickramasinghe was welcomed by the Speaker, Padakala Savitar and the Secretary General of the Parliament with the parade of the three armies. Ranil Wickremesinghe will be sworn in as the 8th Executive President.
The swearing-in ceremony will be held today morning at the Parliament building block. It is said that Ranil Wickramasinghe will take oath in the presence of the Chief Justice. Sri Lanka’s presidential election was held in Parliament yesterday.
Ranil Wickramasinghe was elected as the new president by getting 134 votes.
