Why Vijaya Rani IAS change within one year?
Chennai District Collector Vijaya Rani’s tenure has not been completed for a year and S Amirtha Jothi has been abruptly appointed.
It is customary for the Government of Tamil Nadu to make administrative changes from time to time. The secretaries and governors will be drastically changed, respectively, in the various departments and districts, especially during the new regime. Such a situation could not be seen when the DMK government led by Chief Minister MK Stalin took charge in 2021.
In the absence of major changes over the past few months, Chief Secretary V. Irai Anbu IAS yesterday issued a key directive. In it, it has been informed that S Amirtha Jothi IAS, who was the Joint Secretary of the Department of Cooperatives, Food and Consumer Protection, has been appointed to replace J. Vijaya Rani IAS who is currently the Governor of Chennai District.
S Amirtha Jothi IAS was appointed as the Joint Secretary in the Department of Labor Welfare and Skills Development in June last year.
Whereas the reasons for the change of Vijaya Rani are not known. No further details have been released on where he will be transferred next.
