Southern Railway has informed that 2 special trains will be run between Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam from 15th on the occasion of Onam festival and Velanganni festival.
Thiruvananthapuram – Velanganni – Thiruvananthapuram (car number: 06012-06011) weekly special train will run for 4 days. The train will depart from Thiruvananthapuram Central on 17th, 24th, 31st and 7th of next month (September) at 3.25 pm and reach Velankanni at 4 am the next day.
In the opposite direction, this train will leave Velangani at 11.50 pm on the 18th, 25th and 1st and 8th of the next month (September) and reach Thiruvananthapuram Central at 1 pm the next day. The train stops at Nagercoil Town, Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Trichy, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.
Also Ernakulam – Velankanni – Ernakulam (car number: 06039-06040) weekly special train will depart from Ernakulam junction on 15th, 22nd, 29th and next month (September) at 2.30 pm and reach Velankanni at 8.15 am the next day.
Similarly, the Tambaram-Velankanni special train (car number: 06031) will depart from Tambaram at 10.30 pm on the 7th of next month and reach Velankanni at 5.45 am the next day. This train goes to Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tiruppadaripuliyar.
It has been announced by the Southern Railway that it will stop at Chidambaram, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Velanganni.
