Trial prisoner Vignesh Custodial death 2 police arrested

Chennai: Vignesh, a remand prisoner in police custody in Chennai, has died. His family alleges he had injuries on his body and that Vignesh died as a result of being beaten and tortured by police.

Chief Minister MK Stalin explained that all legal action was being taken in the Vignesh death case.

Political parties also demanded justice for Vignesh’s death. In particular, the AIADMK has raised this issue. Raised in the Assembly as well. The Tamil Nadu government then ordered a CBCID inquiry into Vignesh death. It also ordered relief assistance of Rs 10 lakh to his family.

The case has been referred to the CBI for an honest investigation. The AIADMK insisted that it should be handed over. The members walked out.

Following this, Chief Minister MK Stalin explained the case and said that all legal action was being taken in the Vignesh death case. He said the case has been converted into a murder case based on the autopsy and an investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, two policemen have been arrested in connection with the murder of prisoner Vignesh in Chennai.
