Vismaya’s Nair husband sentenced to 10 years in jail, fined Rs 12 lakh

Vismaya husband Kiran kumar has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined Rs 12 lakh in the Vismaya suicide case.

Kollam: Vismaya V Nair, 22, of Kollam, Kerala, mysteriously died at the home of her husband Kirankumar.

Vismaya’s death was said to have been caused by dowry torture. His death caused controversy and criticism on social media.

Viswamaya is a Bachelor of Science in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery. Vismaya was arrested on June 22 following allegations that her husband Kiran Kumar abused her dowry.

It was also revealed that Vismaya had sent pictures of the injured to a relative a few days before Vismaya died.

Meanwhile, Vismaya’s parents have blamed Kiran Kumar’s family for Vismaya’s death. The Kollam Additional Court yesterday convicted Vismaya’s husband Kiran Kumar in this case.

The sentence was announced today. Kirankumar has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined Rs 12 lakh. Of this, Rs 2 lakh has been ordered to be paid to the affected Vismaya family.

The case is being investigated and sentenced within a year.
