New Delhi: Kashmir separatist Yasin Malik has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in a case of raising funds for militants. Kashmir separatist leader Yasin Malik was arrested by the National Intelligence Service in 2019 on suspicion of funding terrorism.
The National Intelligence Agency (NIA) is investigating the arrest of Yasin Malik. Yasin Malik was lodged in Delhi Tihar Jail after interrogation. The case against Yasin Malik was being heard in the CBI Special Court in Delhi. The CBI special court has convicted Yasin Malik in a case filed against him for allegedly raising funds for terrorism.
Yasin Malik has been involved in extremist activities in Jammu and Kashmir in the name of freedom struggle. He has received funding for this from all over the world.
The court said he had created and operated the largest structure for this. The court ordered National Intelligence Agency officials to obtain an affidavit from Yasin Malik regarding his property and file it with the court, saying the details of the sentence would be announced on May 25 (today).
Accordingly, the National Intelligence Agency has demanded that he be sentenced to death as the details of his sentence are to be announced today. In this context, Kashmir separatist leader Yasin Malik had said before the verdict that he was following Gandhian principles.
And I will not beg for anything. The case is in court. Yasin Malik has said that the court should decide on this. Yasin Malik’s lawyer, If I have been involved in any terrorist act or violence for 28 years, I will retire from politics if Indian intelligence proves it.
