Google Maps has launched a feature called Google Maps 3D: Street View in India. Also, Google Maps in India has introduced new features that provide information about traffic jams and road closures. In addition, Google has introduced three new features in Google Maps Active to help travelers traveling to other parts of the world navigate better. Google announced the release of ‘photorealistic aerial views’ of nearly 100 landmarks.
Google today announced the release of ‘photorealistic aerial views’ of nearly 100 landmarks around the world, which the company says is a step towards introducing artificial intelligence AI with billions of high-definition Street View, satellite and aerial images.
Google first announced the feature at Google I/O earlier this year, and now it’s rolling out to popular landmarks in cities like Barcelona, London, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, and Los Angeles.
Google said it will release aerial views of landmarks globally on Google Maps, Android and iOS-based apps.
Google is also introducing a feature for bicycle commuters. The company says Google Maps will now display information related to cycling routes, including elevation along your route, traffic conditions, especially heavy car traffic, stairs or steep hills.
Apart from this, passengers can know the most detailed traffic situation of the route. This will also give you a better idea of what type of road you can ride the bike on. The feature will be available in cities where cycling directions are available in the coming weeks.
Finally, Google is bringing a new feature to Google Maps that will help users keep their loved ones informed about their location. Google says that with this feature, users will be able to see when a loved one has arrived or left.
“Say you’re going to a concert with a group of friends. If they’ve already chosen to share their location with you, you can set up a notification to the address of the concert venue so you know when they’ve arrived. You can also set a notification to see when they’ve left the location, so it’s easier to find people gathering in crowded places if they get lost or separated,” Google explained in a blog post.
Since this feature also has privacy implications, Google has also provided an explanation for this. Notifications can only be set up for someone who has already chosen to share their location with a person.
Whoever shared their location with the user will get multiple reminders to let them know. Never worry about losing privacy as the Maps app comes with push notifications and reminders including email and regular monthly emails. Google has announced that it has started rolling out the feature globally to Android and iOS users of Google Maps.
