WhatsApp users will get a new feature, will be able to share voice notes in status updates

After emoji reactions and waveforms voice notes, the app is working on a new feature with which users will be able to share voice notes in their status updates. Right now users can only share text, photos and videos as status.

Messaging platform WhatsApp keeps on introducing new features to give better experience to its users.

After emoji reactions and waveforms voice notes, the app is working on a new feature with which users will be able to share voice notes in their status updates. Right now users can only share text, photos and videos as status.

Audio notes can be placed in the status for 24 hours and will be automatically deleted after that.

The name of the new feature will be ‘Voice Status’

WABetaInfo , a website that tracks WhatsApp features and updates, has given information about the new feature.

The report states that such notes shared in Status will be called ‘Voice Status’. A screenshot of the new feature has also surfaced, showing how it works.

It has been told that to share voice status, users will be shown a separate icon in the Status tab.

WhatsApp is the most used chatting app in the world. It has 487 million users (October, 2021) in India alone, which is its largest market. Brazil is the second name in the list, where the number of WhatsApp users is 118 million.

This is how the new WhatsApp feature will work

According to the report, ‘A new icon will be shown at the bottom of the status updates section, by tapping on which users will be able to record audio to share in the status update.’

The voice status will only be shared with those you have selected in the status privacy settings. That is, the privacy settings of the rest of the status updates will be applicable to this as well.

The company said that like the photos and videos shared in Status, the voice notes will also be end-to-end encrypted.

Voice status feature is currently in development mode

The new feature related to status updates is currently in development mode, so its official release will have to wait.

It hasn’t even been released to beta testers yet. Apart from voice status, options like Companion Mode and Hide Online Status are also in development mode, which will be released to all after testing in beta version. However, the company has not officially announced this feature.

Companion Mode Feature Testing

Messaging app users are going to get an easy option to chat from multiple devices simultaneously.

The new feature is named Companion Mode, with which users will be able to login to multiple phones and access chats.

With its help, chat history can be synchronized between multiple devices. That is, like Telegram apps, login and chatting can be done with the same account in many phones.

Only a smartphone becomes the primary device

Users currently only get the option to use WhatsApp as a primary device in a smartphone. If you’re one of those users who uses more than one smartphone, the new Companion Mode will make it easier for you to access WhatsApp chats.

Let us tell you that apart from the primary phone, users can chat with the web or WhatsApp for PC or macOS on the big screen.
