Cuba Havana hotel Massive explosion kills at least 8, 30 Injured

Cuba: According to the New York Times report, several of the injured are in critical condition. Witnesses said the explosion was so intense that a part of the luxury hotel was badly damaged. Adjacent buildings were also damaged by the blast.

A massive explosion occurred on Friday morning at a hotel in the Cuban capital Havana. At least eight people have died in the blast and over a dozen people have been injured.

According to the New York Times report, several of the injured are in critical condition. Witnesses said the explosion was so intense that a part of the luxury hotel was badly damaged. Adjacent buildings were also damaged by the blast.

13 people missing after the blast Reports quoted government officials as saying that 13 people were missing after the blast. In a video posted on social media after the blast, an ambulance can be seen arriving at the scene.

Facebook user Angel Kuja said that ‘a large number of people have been injured here and many people are trapped under the rubble’.

President arrived at the scene After the blast, Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel arrived at the scene with Prime Minister Manuel Maríro Cruz. Regarding this explosion, Cuba’s presidential palace said in one of its tweets that ‘preliminary investigations show that the explosion was caused by a gas leak.’
